[Artificial Intelligence Group] Genetic Algorithm - Searching

 

Hi!

I'm going to participate in a robotics championship where my robot has to find a candle inside an arena.

Here is a map of the arena:

The robot can start in a random place of the arena or at the place that is drawn with a "H". And the candle is inside of one of the four rooms that are represented on the map.

My question is, can I use a floodfill algorithm (does the same as A* algorithm) and a genetic algorithm to find the candle? If so, how can I do it? (the problem is not on the floodfill algorithm, is on the genetic algorithm).

If you have another idea to solve this problem, please tell me!
